Become a Peer Review Mentor
Volunteer Today
Are you an experienced researcher looking to stay involved in your scientific community? Consider volunteering to serve as a mentor for the ASA, CSSA, SSSA Peer Review Mentorship Program. This position is ideal for emeritus members, or those with extensive experience reviewing for our society journals.
Our program mentors will be paired with 1–2 early career mentees and asked to conduct five calls over the course of six months, with the goal of completing at least one mentored review for an ASA, CSSA, SSSA journal article. Mentors will receive training and support from society staff as they lead their mentee(s) through a recommended curriculum. At the end of this process, both mentors and mentees will receive recognition through society outlets and at the ASA, CSSA, SSSA annual meeting.
To volunteer for future sessions, please email the following items to Kaitlin Miller (kmiller@sciencesocieties.org), the program organizer, using the subject line “Mentor Volunteer”:
- Your CV
- Keywords (3-7 words/phrases describing your research interests)
These items will help us to match you with a suitable mentee. Before volunteer assignment, society staff will contact you to confirm your availability for the upcoming session.
