Every year, the Western Society of Crop Science (WSCS) holds a conference that provides a venue for collaboration and networking among crop science professionals and students in the Western Region. It is an excellent opportunity for students to present their research findings and talk with professionals in their area of research/interest.

June 24-25, 2025 | Walla Walla, WA

The Western Society of Crop Science (WSCS) Conference was held in Walla Walla, WA from June 24-25, 2025 and provided an opportunity to network with colleagues and students from around the West and exchange scientific information. The meeting agenda included professional and student oral and poster presentations focused on crop research in the western US. The field tour included a Seven Hills Vineyard tour, McKinney Farms tour, and a Palouse Region Ice Age Floods Soils tour. The meeting ended with a banquet the evening of July 18th. Congratulations to Dr. Anish Sapkota, winner of the 2025 Emerging Scientist Award.

July 17-18, 2024 | California State University, Monterey Bay

The Western Society of Crop Science (WSCS) was held in Monterey Bay, CA from July 17-18, 2024 and provided an opportunity to network with colleagues and students from around the West and exchange scientific information. The meeting agenda included professional and student oral and poster presentations focused on crop research in the western US. A field tour to the world famous Salinas Valley included visits to large farms producing a wide variety of cool-season vegetables. The tour also included a demonstration of automated weeding technology being used in the region. The meeting ended with a banquet the evening of July 18th.
