Emeritus Members
Staying Engaged
As many members of the Societies are either in active retirement or are looking at retirement in the near future, there has been increasing interest from members in both continuing with an active role in our sciences and how the Societies can play a role. The Emeritus Membership Task Force was created in order to identify opportunities to more actively engage Emeritus members in ASA, CSSA, and SSSA. The resources below have been contributed by Emeritus members.

Recommended Books
Retirement Life Plan, recommended by Dale Johnson
Retirement promises many benefits, such as the freedom to do what you want, when you want. However, it may also pose some challenges as you exit the working life that you know so well. For those who have enjoyed a reward career, the prospect of retirement may come with mixed emotions. Is this really right for me? Will I get bored? Will I miss work? How will I fill my time? This book will also help you consider what a fulfilling retirement means to you, personally, and create a long-term vision for it.
The New Retirementality, recommended by Kenneth Boote
Circumstances are redefining what it means to retire and this book provides a roadmap that shows you that attitude is also an essential part of the equation—if you want to succeed you need both means and meaning.
